Overview

QR Code Generator is a privacy-friendly Chrome extension that creates, customizes, exports, scans, and saves QR codes locally in your browser.

Data Collection

We do not collect, sell, share, transmit, or track personal data. The extension does not include analytics, ads, tracking scripts, or external API calls.

Local Storage

The extension may store the following data locally in Chrome storage:

• Saved QR history and favorite QR codes
• Theme preference and QR customization defaults
• Temporary text from user-triggered context menu actions
• Review prompt preference, such as Later or Never

This data remains on your browser/device unless you export, delete, clear, or sync it through Chrome.

Permissions

• activeTab: used only when you click the current tab QR action.
• contextMenus: used to generate QR codes from selected text or links.
• storage: used for local settings, QR history, favorites, and extension preferences.

Clipboard And Camera

Clipboard actions happen only after you click Paste, Copy Image, Copy Base64, or Copy Text. Camera access is requested only when you choose webcam QR scanning. Uploaded images are decoded locally in the browser.

Network Activity

The extension is designed for offline QR generation and does not send QR content, scan results, history, settings, or files to any server.
