Summary
Compressly processes images locally on your device. It does not upload your images, filenames, settings, or usage data to any server.
Images You Select
When you choose, drag, drop, or paste images into Compressly:
- The files are read locally by your browser.
- Compression, resizing, format conversion, form-photo preparation, comparison, benchmarking, and export-pack generation run locally inside the extension popup and local Web Workers.
- Your images are not transmitted to Compressly, a cloud service, analytics provider, advertising network, or third party.
- Compressly has no backend server for image processing.
Local Storage
Compressly uses local browser storage for extension functionality:
-
chrome.storage.localstores preferences such as compression settings, output format, theme, saved profiles, DPI/unit preferences, and Smart Rules. - IndexedDB may temporarily store recent optimized results so work is not immediately lost if the popup closes.
- Temporary session results are local-only and can be cleared from Settings.
Permissions
Compressly requests only the storage permission. It does not request host permissions, access to all
websites, tabs, browsing history, active tab access, location, clipboard read permission, account permissions, or
identity permissions.
Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising
Compressly does not include analytics SDKs, telemetry, tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, remote logging, or usage analytics.
Accounts and Payments
Compressly does not require an account or login. This build does not collect payment information.
Data Sharing and Sale
Compressly does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data. The extension does not transmit user-selected images or related data to third parties.
Data Retention
Settings and profiles remain locally stored until you change or clear them. Temporary optimized results may be stored locally for the current or recent session and can be cleared from the extension's Settings panel.
